Calgary, Alberta - Building on its long-standing commitment to youth environmental education, Canon U.S.A., Inc. continues its support of the 2025 National Conservation Foundation (NCF)-Envirothon Competition. The international competition featured high school students competing in teams to demonstrate their environmental knowledge and problem-solving skills.
The 2025 theme, “Roots and Resiliency: Fostering Forest Stewardship in a Canopy of Change,” invited students to explore forest ecosystems, climate impacts, and sustainable management through hands-on learning and team collaboration. During the competition, students worked in five key subject areas: soils and land use, aquatic ecology, forestry, wildlife, and the current issue.
Students demonstrated their knowledge of explored topics through written tests and prepared oral presentations. This year’s competition brought together 50 teams of high school students from across the U.S., Canada, and China.
The NCF-Envirothon team wants to thank Canon U.S.A., Inc. for their contribution, as well as the gift of Canon products. Canon’s sponsorship of the NCF-Envirothon signifies their support of the 25,000 high school students who participate annually. Canon’s commitment and contribution to the environment and the world community are an integral part of its management structure, product design, manufacturing, and corporate culture.
“It is a privilege to continue our support of the NCF-Envirothon competition,” said Shinya Fukuda, senior vice president, corporate planning & communications sub-group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “Honoring our responsibility to the environment has always been a core value of Canon’s Kyosei philosophy, our dedication to living and working together for the common good. It’s wonderful that so many young students are invested in conservation, and we are proud to support them as they demonstrate and continue to expand their knowledge.”
